“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” Romans 12:2 (KJV)
Picture your spiritual life as a computer.
Over time, technology improves, and no longer is what you have the latest and greatest. Eventually it becomes outdated and slow; it needs an upgrade.
So many Christians make the mistake of thinking that once they have a true experience with the Lord, there isn’t anything more to pursue.
The fact is God has so much more to give us than we can even begin to understand.
We all need a refilling. We get lax, complacent or hit a dry spell. But our job here is never done. If we keep the vision clear in our minds constantly, we’ll continue to strive for the perfection He has called us to.
“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6 (KJV)
When you receive the life of Christ inside, that is a big step, and you can never lose it. However, there is an abundance of refueling that He has in store if we continue in His love (John 15:9).
If we continue to ask, our Heavenly Father will continue to give. He will sustain us with more power to overcome temptations, greater strength to push through trials; He will place a deeper joy within us that endures in spite of the storms of life.
All we have to do is re-boost our systems.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-23 reminds us to “Pray without ceasing,” to thank God in and for everything, cleave to that which is good, and avoid the appearance of evil.
Just talk to Him, think about Him, and never stop asking Him to bless you with revelation of the beautiful work He is accomplishing in you and all around you.
